No they won't.
And quite understandably, too, I’d say …
I have ps CS2 and it will not run right on my new imac, so I need to upgrade now. Already use up my CS4 trial period, so my only option is to upgrade to CS4 or do without until CS5 is released?

I recently ran into a former colleague who claimed that she has indeed taken advantage of a grace period (4 weeks I think) before and thus gotten the subsequent version for free when purchasing a version immediately before the next release.
But I don’t know if that may be a local thing or something …
My company was ready to pull the trigger to buy CS4, but the new annoucement of the CS5 release has halted that purchase.
Will Adobe give us a no-cost update to CS5 when it's released so we can buy CS4 and go ahead with our plans now?
The cutoff date was March 12. If you bought CS4 after March 12, you get CS5 for free. There may be a nominal fee for shipping the installation media, around $10.
But you need to buy CS4 now, before the CS5 downloads are available for purchase.
I called Adobe Support and they confirmed that you will get a free update to CS4 if you buy it before CS5 is released.
Thanks for all the help!
