1. Re: Best Scheme For Capturing For Best MPE Performance?
Curt Wrigley May 4, 2010 11:31 AM (in response to Stanley Arthur)If you are captureing fron tape there are two options
- DV
- HDV
Your cam would determine which you have; set Pr to match.

Harm Millaard May 4, 2010 11:31 AM (in response to Stanley Arthur)There is only one scheme for capturing, and that is capturing. Just a simple transfer of data. No choices there.

3. Re: Best Scheme For Capturing For Best MPE Performance?
Stanley Arthur May 4, 2010 11:59 AM (in response to Harm Millaard)You have to forgive me. I've been using Matrox RT.X2's for so long, I didn't realize there were no codec options when capturing from HDV tape, like there is with the RT.X2. So now I wonder how the MPE handles the playback of HDV captured footage.
I'm anxious to see what my new HP Z800 with one i7 quad core, 12 gigs of ram and Nvidia GeForce GTX 285 can do with PPro CS5. I got it two months ago and haven't even turned it on, waiting for CS5.

Curt Wrigley May 4, 2010 1:24 PM (in response to Stanley Arthur)Pr plays back HDV very well. You should have no problems.
On your new system with the cuda card and MPE; editing HDV.... You will be very happy. Its very fast and stable. You will enjoy the elegance of editing everything natively (no more conversions, keeping track of codecs...)
