    Photoshop fonts

    broomeGirl Community Member

Hi!  I am using a Mac OSX 10.5.8 and photoshop cs4  ... the folder  MacHD>Library>Fonts is not mirrored in my Photoshop Library of  fonts. From where does Photoshop read its fonts?  Thanks

It will read the system fonts from the HD\Library\Fonts folder, but it reads the Home\Library\Fonts folder unless you specify differently.

Thank you for that but how do you tell it to read the MacHD>Library>Fonts .. I can find nothing in Photoshop preferences.

If you move all the fonts from your "personal" folder, to the system folder, it will read from there.

I do not know how or why the preference is set for which foldeer to read from, but it (and most apps that allow different fonts) will read the home folder first and then the system folder. I think it's because a lot of users install any "extra fonts" to their home folder.
