2. Re: CS5 Image Blurry on Placement Resize
clydezjr1 Jun 3, 2010 2:54 PM (in response to P Spier)I've tried that. When I print from InDesign, the image looks great. However, when I export a PDF, it reverts back to bad image resolution. Any pointers?

P Spier Jun 3, 2010 3:05 PM (in response to clydezjr1)Your images in the PDF is being downsampled to 72 ppi. Is this what you want?
Is this an interactive PDF or one meant for print?

10. Re: CS5 Image Blurry on Placement Resize
P Spier Jun 4, 2010 9:03 AM (in response to clydezjr1)Are they also interactive? Print, even on a desktop printer, usually requires more than 72 ppi for anything but screen captures. I wouldn't, personally, drop below 150 ppi if I could help it, and 200 would probably be better for most desktops.

11. Re: CS5 Image Blurry on Placement Resize
clydezjr1 Jun 4, 2010 9:19 AM (in response to P Spier)So would you recommend I set the screen/image capture @ 150 ppi minimum?

12. Re: CS5 Image Blurry on Placement Resize
P Spier Jun 4, 2010 10:05 AM (in response to clydezjr1)No. Screen captures are by definition low resolution, and nothing is really gained by upsampling. Other images, those captured at high resolutions, will suffer if they are later downsampled to 72 ppi, so what I'm suggesting is to change the setting for downsampling to something like 150 pp for images above 200 pp (which is much more clearly spelled out using the PDF for print dialog than the Interactive PDF screen you are using now).
