Why dont you try and save as a PDF and print from Acrobat?
It's very common that Epson printers distort prints either in the X or Y direction.

Interesting point about the Epson. I also have a Canon Pixma, I will try and see if that makes a difference.

If you think this project might take more than 30 days, You could download Scribus for free.
