    Very Stupid Question...

    LittleMissSunshineUK Community Member

Hello everybody. Im very new to Dreamweaver and IT in general. I'd like to ask a very stupid question if I may please...

I'm hoping to buy Web Prem CS5 for the Mac, on a previous post i asked for the main differences between the PC and the Mac version.

Bob L kindly replied that one problem is the application frame on the mac.

Here we go...stupid question time...could somebody please explain what the application frame is please? Is this basically the size of the window that DW will open in???

Also what are the drawbacks of the application frame issue on the mac???

thank you for not laughing too much and thank you for looking

On the Mac, unlike Windows, you can see straight through to the desktop. Beginning with CS4 most Adobe apps added an application frame which mimics the Windows behavior. This feature is turned off by default but I've turned it on for all the Mac apps.

However, for some reason the Dreamweaver team elected not to add the application frame.

Finally, I didn't say it was a problem. I said it was a problem for me. Most Mac users leave it off in all of their apps so they don't care that it's not there for Dreamweaver. For Windows user switching to Mac it's a nice way to make them feel at home.

Apologies for the mix up with the definition of the "problem"
