1. Re: Mouse deselects on dual monitror (after update - Bridge CS5 4.0.1.26)
Wolf Eilers May 28, 2010 11:09 PM (in response to malameel)Just upgraded to Bridge 4.0.1.26 and cannot replicate your issue. I can use the arrow keys on the thumbnails in the content window and have a synchronized window on my secondary monitor show the preview.

malameel Jun 3, 2010 12:34 PM (in response to Wolf Eilers)Hello,
Thanks for testing it out on your computer. When I get home, I will finish installing CS5 there and see if I can replicate the issue. I hope to find a resolution because this is a very annoying problem for my workflow.
Further info:
Windows 7 64bit (Build 7600)
Dual Xeon 5160 @ 3GHz (basically 2x Dual cores)
8GBs ram

3. Re: Mouse deselects on dual monitror (after update - Bridge CS5 4.0.1.26)
malameel Jun 6, 2010 10:18 PM (in response to Wolf Eilers)I have now installed the CS5 Master Collection on my home computer which is very identical to my work computer (almost same specs except one is from Dell and the other is from Boxx) and the problem is present on both systems.
This time, I did confirm that navigation with the arrow keys was working properly with the original install. However, I did noticed that I could not navigate up or down on the thumbnail grid but side to side did work correctly. (I will see if this is possible on my work computer.)
Then I upgraded to the latest updates and I can confirm that they do break the ability to navigate with arrow keys on dual monitors while using two synccronized windows (where one for thumbnails and the other for previews). Up and down did not work either.
Again, this was easily done in CS4 and earlier.
Any help would be appreciated.

Stone.Pan Jun 8, 2010 1:54 AM (in response to malameel)Mark,
I can reproduce your issue. and I found one workaround:
Make sure preview panel always show in both synchronized windows. I mean you have to toggle on the preview panel in the bridge window which show the thumbnails, but you can resize the preview panel to very small, but must keep it show, try it though this solution is quite weird. It's a new bug since bridge cs5.

Yammer Jun 8, 2010 5:37 AM (in response to malameel)I have something similar too. It seems to coincide with Bridge completing updates to the Content panel. The current CS5 application seems to lose focus, and the window needs to be reselected before it can be used. The same goes for Bridge. It doesn't respond to keystrokes unless you click somewhere in the window first.

6. Re: Mouse deselects on dual monitror (after update - Bridge CS5 4.0.1.26)
malameel Jun 8, 2010 3:40 PM (in response to Stone.Pan)By having a small preview window, I can now scroll and navigate through the thumbnails (but I of course lose some screen real estate and the annoyance of it, but at least it works.) Ironically, I can now scroll up and down as well, which was surprising.
I would not call this an "answer" but a workaround!

malameel Jun 8, 2010 3:43 PM (in response to Yammer)Which control panel do you mean?
The behavior is the smae that we are talking about. Basically when CS5 updates the second monitor, the active window is not returned to original window which remains deactivated.

8. Re: Mouse deselects on dual monitror (after update - Bridge CS5 4.0.1.26)
kevinthom Aug 18, 2010 8:11 PM (in response to malameel)I'm having exactly this same issue with my dual monitor setup. The synchronized window with the thumbnails loses focus whenever you use the arrow keys to select another thumbnail. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with Bridge CS5 4.0.2.1.
I think this other problem is related: On my "thumbnail" monitor, if I select a filter, like a label, to limit the thumbnails shown, cycling through them with the arrow keys actually includes non-filtered items.
These problems are driving me nuts. I've tried reverting to Bridge CS4, but I want to be able to use my Photoshop CS5 scripts and the new version of Camera Raw.

9. Re: Mouse deselects on dual monitror (after update - Bridge CS5 4.0.1.26)
kevinthom Aug 18, 2010 8:20 PM (in response to kevinthom)Yes, the second problem I mentioned is definitely related. I tested by doing as a previous poster suggested... I set up a content pane on my preview monitor. When I select a filter on the thumbnail monitor, it shows a smaller number of thumbnails. However, on the preview monitor, it's still showing all of the thumbnails. When I use the arrow keys to navigate the filtered results on the thumbnail monitor, I can see it cycling through all thumbnails on the preview monitor.

10. Re: Mouse deselects on dual monitor (after update - Bridge CS5 4.0.1.26)
kevinthom Sep 30, 2010 8:59 AM (in response to Stone.Pan)This is sort of a workaround. It will allow you to browse the full list of images in the folder, but if you have applied a filter to show a subset of thumbnails on your "Content" monitor, that filter is not applied to the thumbnails on your "Preview" monitor. Scrolling with the arrow keys moves through all thumbnails. The only workaround to this, unfortunately, is to do everything on one monitor.

malameel Dec 2, 2010 8:47 AM (in response to kevinthom)I just downloaded the update and it does seem to work correctly again on my PC. I will check my Macs and other artists soon. It is amazing how many of us use bridge and this bug was quite distracting, but I am glad it is addressed.
