Lightroom 64 bit is closing down

“ Windows detected a problem with the program Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3. Click OK to close the program. The next time the program launches it will automatically open in compatibility mode”

I got the above message about two days after downloading the trial. I love the software but is there a problem with it potentially running optimally?

      I’m running Lightroom 3 on Windows 7 64 bit, Intel 2.8Ghz, 6gb RAM

I had a similar problem on Saturday. Once I removed the Wacom software and drivers LTR3 worked fine.

Thank you Gary for the suggestion but I don’t have a graphics tablet and only use a mouse so it’s not a driver problem as far as I can tell. But I’m glad that solution worked in your case.

I checked the installation and the Lightroom3.exe is correctly placed in Program Files and not

Program Files (x86) which is where 32 bit software resides. So I right clicked the desktop icon and selected run as administrator, applied the change and voila!

I launched the task manager to confirm Ligtroom 3 was running correctly which it is. Under the process tab any older software is shown with the *32 suffix.

I hope this may be of help to others.

Victoria Brampton (sp?) had a posting, maybe on her website, about some files to remove. Seems those trying found it useful.

              Good luck
