I'm using Cap 4. What is the best way to create a button on the last slide that gives the user a chance to begin again?

I know that in Cap 3 I could create a button and make its action "Jump to slide..." but I'm not sure it always worked if the person did not begin the session at the first slide of the eLearning.

What is a best practice way of giving the user a "start over" option. Thank you very much.

Hello,

Still using the same workflow: put a button on the last slides which triggers the action 'Jump to slide 1'. This works normally always after publishing. If you are previewing from a slide, later than this first slide (p.e. with the option 'Preview from this slide' on a later slide than the first one) it will not work, but I think you want to publish, not?

Or do you mean something else with 'If the person did not begin the session...'? Do you want to go back to the slide where the user really started?

Hi there

In addition to the excellent advice you have already received...

Another alternative would be to use the function "Open URL or File" for the button. Just have the button reload the HTML page that is presenting the Captivate. This way things would restart and reset.

For example, any Text Entry Boxes would be reset so they were blank again.

Cheers... Rick
