Hi all,

I'm working with the latest version of RoboHelp. My output is WebHelp.

I have F1 help implented for our various dialog boxes. The Help displays OK but the Table of Contents is not displayed. Instead we get a Show link, to show the TOC.

We want to display the TOC automatically for F1. But.....how do I do that?

Hi,

What Robo version/flavor are you using? How do you call the help? See http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/calling_webhelp/calling_webhelp.htm

For RH7, you can also add

to every topic. Add it right before the

tag. Whenever the page is opened, it will automatically show the skin.

Greet,

Willam

Hi,

I'm on 8.0.2.208.

I'm not to sure how the developers call the help. I'm waiting for a response from them 🙂  I do know that I have to edit an XML file which they then compile with the product build. A sample:

<LinkConfiguration ClassName="UIFramework.Help.LinkConfiguration">
  <Links ClassName="UIFramework.Help.LinkDictionary">

    <LinkItem ClassName="UIFramework.Help.LinkItem" ElementName="\Default" LinkName="file::AMDocumentation\Application_Manager\welcome.htm" />

Hi there

If you are using Context IDs along with the WebHelp API to open topics, you may specify a two pane window. This would present the TOC alongside the topic.

Aside from that, you will need to resort to using simple URLs to open the topics. Peter Grainge has info on that at the link below:
