Forgot to mention that footage scrubs fine, looks as though it should play back normally. Line above sequence is yellow for most of the footage I've imported, and green after a render. Work area matches length of sequence too.
Footage won't play back in either window either, so it's not likely to be a sequence setting (or at least that's my guess...)
Same for me - I posted pretty much the same problem today. Anyone have any idea?
I assume that with a MB-Pro, you only have one internal HDD. Is that correct?
Especially with HD material, that will be a major limitation. A 2x physical (no partitions) internal HDD is about as low as one can go, and a 3x physical internal HDD setup is better.
Now, on a Mac, can you use eSATA - just do not know what can be done with a Mac - sorry?
I use FW-800's for my Projects, as I migrate them between machines, though I have a min. 3x HDD setup on my laptop, and many more on my workstation. Those work fine for me.
It was definitely the fix that Adobe suggested, where I had to enable the Root user, log in as Root, and test the program. Worked fine as root, now works fine as my username. Random as can be.. but problem solved.
