Suresh Jayaraman Jul 9, 2010 12:09 AM (in response to JamesMoon67)Hello , I guess you are trying to set the correct answer for review area through property inspector which is not required as the right answer will be picked up during run time for SWF .. Please go with blank in these fields and review the quiz .. you will know what I mean
Thanks

Lilybiri Jul 9, 2010 1:48 AM (in response to JamesMoon67)Hello James,
To supplement the correct answer of Suresh: the review area contains default text that you can find in the Properties of the review area (select it on a Question slide). If the user answered incorrectly, the default text is 'Your answer:...' 'The correct answer is:...' where the ellipsises will be replaced by the given answer (p.e. choice A for an multiple choice question) and the correct answer (p.e. choice C).
If you want to have a more personalized text appearing after answering and during preview, you could add 2 Text Captions to the Question slide, that you make initially invisible. I'll call them CaptionSuccess and CaptionFail. Open the Quiz Properties for the Question slide (if you are working in the workspace Classic) or go to that panel in the left docking space (if you are working in the workspace Quizzing). For the action 'On Success' you choose "show CaptionSuccess'' and for Last attempt by Failure "show CaptionFail". The captions will appear when the user clicks on Submit and will stay visible on the slide during Preview.

JamesMoon67 Jul 10, 2010 2:45 PM (in response to JamesMoon67)I just wanted to say thank you guys for the hint, Sorry for getting the idea about the review feedback questions completely wrong and also the hint to put the hidden text in
One issue I still have is my background is black and my text is white. I am still not seeing the answers my guess is because the answer is showing as black and can not be seen is there any way to set the answers to be a certain colour ?

Lilybiri Jul 11, 2010 2:25 AM (in response to JamesMoon67)Hi James,
Do not know exactly which Quizzing object you are referring to: is it the Review text or the Answer text captions? Each Quizzing object has its own style, that you can change either in the Object Style Manager or (perhaps easier) using the Properties of the object. I'l try to explain the steps to change the style of the Question answers (where the font color is indeed black):
- Select one answer text on a question slide, change the font color in the Properties panel, region Character
- On the top of the Properties panel, you'll see that the Default Question Answer Style got a + sign added
- Click the icon with the 'diskette' to 'Save Changes to Existing Style'
- All the answer texts will have gotten the new font color, and this will be the Default Question Answer Style for all Answer text captions in this project.
This change to the style will not be applied to other projects.
Hope this helps.

6. Re: Quiz in captivate 5 review feedback messages issue
Lilybiri Jul 12, 2010 3:30 AM (in response to JamesMoon67)Hello,
Sorry this time, there seems to be no way to change the style of the dropdown list for Fill-in-the-Blank questions, nor for the color/border/size of the caption used to show the user answer and correct answer in the Review area. Only the font of those can be adapted (font of Review area), which sometimes results in what you showed: if the font is too large, the text is not totally visible in vertical direction.
Thanks for pointing this out (have also still a lot to discover in CP5). I did report already to the team. Please, fill in a feature request about this, could help to give it priority. The Feature request form is found in the main page of this forums.
You'll only see the user answer and correct answer when the answer was incorrect, as is shown in the Review feedback messages of the Properties panel for the Review area. Perhaps you are a bit confused because 'The correct answer is:...' doesn't have the same indent as 'Your abswer:...', but it belongs to the captions to be seen only when the answer was Incorrect, not if it was skipped.
As I pointed out, if you do want to have other messages to be displayed than the default ones, you'll have to create/hide/show Text captions by using actions to be triggered by the buttons.

JamesMoon67 Jul 12, 2010 12:12 PM (in response to Lilybiri)Thanks for all of your help , I think I will have to use your work around if I want to show the correct answer when a user skiped the question. I have logged a issue about the layout of the answer. I hope it will be picked up and fixed in later versions.

8. Re: Quiz in captivate 5 review feedback messages issue
annewa Jun 16, 2011 3:18 PM (in response to JamesMoon67)Sorry to revive an old thread, but I'm wondering if this issue was ever resolved. I'd sure like to be able to format quiz feedback beyond the font. In the example below, I had to run the font size down just to get the table to fit on my 640-x480 sample. Why is that information in a table anyway? Any suggestions?
Thanks, Anne

RodWard Jun 16, 2011 8:15 PM (in response to annewa)The information in the Quiz Review box is tellig you that you selected the second (or B) option, but that the correct answer was actually the first one (A).
Unfortunately, in Cp versions prior to 5.5 any changes to the width of the Review Box in Edit mode had little or no effect on it at runtime. If you can upgrade to 5.5 you'll find that the Review Area (when ever it does appear) can be positioned and sized at will. You might even find that you prefer the entire way that 5.5. shows quiz question feedback in Review mode.
This thread has some screenshots of what it looks like:

11. Re: Quiz in captivate 5 review feedback messages issue
butterflyginger Oct 24, 2014 8:29 AM (in response to Lilybiri)Hi,
I know this thread is four years old but I'm still stuck using Captivate 5.0. I designed a quiz and was able to modify the Review Area for the very last slide - the slide that displays the information about quiz results. I then copied this quiz project and modified from that project. However, I am unable to modify the new project for the review area. When I click the Review Area for the last slide, there are no properties that show pass or fail messages. What I get is Review Area Style, Character, and Position & Size. The section of "Review Feedback Messages" is missing. I found out about that by starting a new project with quiz questions.
I tried to access the link provided by Lilybiri but it's unavailable. Is there a way to edit the pass and fail messages? Or is my option limited to recreating the whole project just for the messages?

RodWard Oct 24, 2014 4:19 PM (in response to butterflyginger)If you select the Quiz Review area and then look on the Properties tab, do you NOT see an accordion called Review Feedback Messages? Is it perhaps collapsed and that's why you cannot see the options to configure pass and fail messages?

13. Re: Quiz in captivate 5 review feedback messages issue
butterflyginger Oct 27, 2014 6:46 AM (in response to RodWard)Hi RodWard,
That entire section is gone from the properties, as described in my post. It is not collapsed at all. It is not there. I created a new quiz project and compared both projects to find out that that section of "Review Feedback Messages" is missing. That's why I'm posting here to search for a possible solution for this issue. It's very likely a bug or a corruption in the file. I'm not able to edit those pass/fail messages after the project has already been created.
Any idea?
