    Crashing LR3 when attempting Import

    D3S user Community Member

Folks, new here so consider the learning curve. Makiing no head way so here's the question to all y'all Adobe denizens:

Did a reinstall of LR2.7, then LR3 trying to wipe out the stalling upon import. It worked fine for one batch of watermarks back into CNX2, then this evening, same ole' wheels in the ditch.

System is i7 core duo, NVIDIA G Force,  8 MB ram, internal SATA, external eSATA, W7PRO 64 bit.

It stalls out the rig and I like it alternately, using for noise and sharpening, plus Watermarks. Importing TIFF's and JPEGS, not NEFS, LR makes these too dark.

      Suggestions are appreciated.

BTW, I searched and found similar but regarding data-cards, and everything I have works off of the 7,200 RPM eSATA.

      Thanks in advance,

      Rob

There are numerous threads of complaints about crashing on import, but I don't think there's any solutions yet. At least, we know for sure that Lightroom engineers are seriously looking into this. http://forums.adobe.com/message/2911369#2911369

          As for...

...  Importing TIFF's and JPEGS, not NEFS, LR makes these too dark. ...

It really shouldn't. What profile is there in your Calibration panel, when the pics are looking too dark? Try some camera-specific (e.g. Camera Standard) profiles, they mostly look perfectly like NX2's Picture Styles.

That's very concise and thoughtful of you to reply to my question.

The folks over at NIK, also have issues with their partner (Nikon) with crashes using the version of Capture NX2.2.4, that is also unresolved. (some users have reverted to 2.2.3)

The hurdle may well be 64 bit architecture for Capture but LR3 is stalling on various platforms as we know.

I appreciate your taking time to respond.

            Best regards,
