Chris Cox Jul 22, 2010 3:24 PM (in response to davisdont)Assuming you have the 12.0.1 update, it's a placebo.
There is one known bug in the 12.0.1 update for MPSupport, and it only affects painting with some brushes in 8 bit CMYK.

davisdont Jul 22, 2010 3:36 PM (in response to Chris Cox)12.01 yes. DAAAHHH! i exclusively paint comic pages with quite complex brushes in rgb and cmyk, 8bit as it happens!
is this listed in known issues because i've been driven crazy by this
i thought i'd solved the gpu thing with the kext swap but i was still getting trouble!

3. Re: removing MultiProcessor Support.plugin
Chris Cox Jul 22, 2010 4:08 PM (in response to davisdont)Ok, then remove the MPSupport plugin for now.
We're still testing a fix for the remaining bug (which we missed because of the other painting bugs that happened more often in 12.0.0, sigh).
And I'll see you back on gutterzombie.

font9a Jul 22, 2010 8:18 PM (in response to davisdont)Can you please elaborate on the kext swap? Is there a way to downgrade just the 10.6.4 graphics drivers (kexts) to 10.6.3?
I know this is a bit off topic for your issue, but the kept swap info would be supremely useful.
Thank you!

hi,
this should be fairly simple to do. at any stage you feel worried, google is your friend
download the 10.6.3 update from apple (the easiest way is to google for the "10.6.3 combo update" rather than search the site)
download Pacifist. http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/6812/pacifist
backup everything!!!!!!
open the 10.6.3 installer package with Pacifist
use it to install all these kexts from 10.6.3:
NVDANV50Hal.kextNVDANV40Hal.kextNVDAResman.kextGeForce.kextGeForceVADriver.bundleGeForceGLDriver.bundleGeForce7xxxGLDriver.bundleGeForceGA.pluginNVSMU.kextyou can find them with pacifist built in search or in somewhere like comboupdate/system/library/extentions (from memory) in pacifists main window file tree.after doing this reboot holding down the shift key (this "safeboots" rebuilds loads of caches and loads basic drivers only, it's much slower than a normal boot, don't panic)then reboot normally.done.if it goes wrong, and you can't boot-reinstall whatever version of snowleopard you have on disk (it won't overwrite your files, just the system) then apply the 10.6.4 combo update toget back to where you started -
