farrelldoc Jul 26, 2010 8:40 AM (in response to MurraySummers)Thank you for your prompt reply.
I just did a search for .lck, but there were none in the new site. I did find some in other sites, but not the ones that correspond with the .lck files in the new site.
I did find a couple of the files in another site where they still existed on the server, and I was able to check them out and copy them to my new site without the lock file. Since I don't have check in/check out enabled on that site, there is no lock file to contend with.
I wish Adobe would just remove the lock file altogether when you turn off that functionality, or it would be nice if there was an extension that would do the same.
Thanks,
Karen

3. Re: How do I remove lock (.lck) from files copied to new site?
MurraySummers Jul 26, 2010 8:53 AM (in response to farrelldoc)Are you seeing the .lck files there in that site in DW's Files panel? If you are, then they ARE there. It's possible that your Finder/Explorer is hiding that extension from you. In that case, you'd have to drop to DOS/Terminal to browse to the folder and remove them.

4. Re: How do I remove lock (.lck) from files copied to new site?
farrelldoc Jul 26, 2010 9:01 AM (in response to MurraySummers)No, I deleted all the .lck files in Windows Explorer that I could see. I could not see any in DW. I have Windows Explorer set to show all hidden files, and it did display a few .lck files--those that I deleted from the other sites.
Maybe I can open the files in a non-Adobe program and rename them? It's just strange that I have ghost lck files somewhere though.
Thanks,
Karen

MurraySummers Jul 26, 2010 10:27 AM (in response to farrelldoc)Now I'm confused. Where are the 'ghost' .lck files? Are you still having the symptoms? Do the files themselves have the readonly attribute set?
