    keyboard shortcuts are intermittently buggy

      Specs:

      2010 17" MacBook Pro i7 / 8GB

Dual OWC Mercury Extreme RE Enterprise SSDs in RAID-0 (internal; boot, application, and scratch disk)

      OS X 10.6.4 booting into 64-bit

NVidia drivers installed from NVidia (not 10.6.4): 19.5.8f03  (http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce-macosx-19.5.8f03-driver.html)

      PS CS5 64-bit Extended 12.0.1

      4GB allocated to PS

Advanced OpenGL Drawing enabled (no crashing or redraw problems since updating with the NVidia 19.5.8f03 drivers)

** Note: NVidia says these are only for GTX 295 GPUs, but they installed and are running flawlessly on my MBP i7 machine with a GT 330M **

I am having some keyboard shortcut errors in CS5. First, about once or twice a day the keyboard shortcuts for tools don't work. As in, M doesn't select the marquee tool, V doesn't invoke the move tool, G doesn't invoke the paint tool, etc. I do have "use shift to select between different tools" but this doesn't seem to make a difference. Secondly, the shortcuts for the brush selector pop-up (ctrl+opt) often fail to work at all (either with a mouse or a Wacom Intuos 3.) Thirdly, the "i" eyedropper tool seems to work most sporadic of all the tool shortcuts — often not working even when other shortcuts are. Plus, the ctrl+opt+cmd sequence just as often does not open the onscreen color picker.

Saving, closing and re-opening the document makes the shortcuts work again.

I recall occasionally having the tool shortcuts not work in CS4, but not as often as I'm experiencing in CS5. It's not causing freezing or crashing, it's just darn annoying.

      Have a nice day.

I'm finding a similar scenario also - standard cmd + letter keys and tool shortcuts just don't respond for a while - I can usually resolve the issues by swapping to another app / document and back again, but sometimes I need to close and re-open the document to continue.

It's so random that I can't pin down the cause, but I notice it may happen more often often when coming back to Photoshop from another program.

Probably unrelated but it may happen sometimes when I have a custom Configurator Panels loaded  - font9a - are you running any custom panels ?

I am running a custom color picker panel occasionally. But I installed it after this issue started, so if it they are related it is only coincidental.
