Bulk file renaming and updating related links

I am working on a project where I have to restructure file arrangement by creating appropriate folders and renaming file names for all the topics with changed naming convention. I have to work upon over 6000 files across over 100 projects. Is there any way in RoboHelp x5 or 8 to handle this activity by bulk renaming or can I use any tool that helps me in this regard?

I tried a sample project with BulkRename tool but that results in RH not recognizing the files.

Please help me in sorting it out.

Sorry but all the changes have to be made within RoboHelp. Guess you'll be working late for a while.

One possible partial solution would be with a new project you create the folders in RH and then import the topics after renaming them externally using a renaming tool.
