Adobe UserID vs e-mail address

I recently changed my ISP from

@COX.net to @Verizon.net and was in the process of changing my e-mail address for all registered accounts when I noticed that the Adobe site says that "Warning: Changing your e-mail also changes your Adobe ID, which may impact access to your services and your personal content in any of them"  I have enough problems working with adobe digital editions as is, so I certainly don't want my purchased books to suddenly become unreadable.  How do I change my userid from an e-mail address that is no longer valid, to the new one without screwing up my userid, which ADE uses?

You were doing the right thing.  Do however remember your original email address for tech support purposes - it will help the India team respond faster to you.
