Hyperlink Error

I'm currently running RoboHelp 7 on Windows 7. RoboHelp is fully patched (as of today). I keep getting an error message "The hyperlink Tips_for_Selecting_Routes.htm used in Selecting_Flight_plans.htm is outside of the current project and will not be shown in the Project Manager". The code being used is:

<li class=p><p>Select one or more route files. <spaces> </spaces><a
href="javascript:BSSCPopup('../common/Tips_for_Selecting_Routes.htm');"
id=a1>Tips for selecting routes <img src="..\common\pix\blue_arrow_expandingContent.gif"
x-maintain-ratio=TRUE style="border: none; width: 7px; height: 13px; float: none;
          border-style: none; border-style: none;"
width=7 height=13 border=0></a><robohelp><script type="text/javascript"
language=JavaScript1.2><!--
FilePopupInit('a1');

When I attempt to compile the project I get no erros and it functions properally. It's just when I open the project. If I run the same project on an XP machine, I do not get an error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Rob

Hi there

Can you please insert a screen capture of your Project Manager with folders in view?

Normally you see that message when something is linked and the link functions on your own PC, but is really incorrect in the project.

Cheers... Rick

Thank you for the reply.

Below is the screen captures. Let me know if additional information is needed. Please note that they are both part of the same parent DIR, but seperate sub-DIR.

RH 7.03.001 on Win7: We experience exactly the same problem as Rob. However, if we convert the problematic popup links to "normal" links (i.e. Display in frame: Page Default (none)), the links suddenly work again and we no longer get the "...outside of this project" message, despite the fact that the destination file is exactly the same. Is there a problem w/ handling popups in RH 7.03?

Cheers,

Morten

Another observation to add to my earlier post:

Popups in the same RH project appear to be interpreted slightly different by RH7.03 depending on whether the popups were created on a Win7_Enterprise or a WinXP_ProfessionalSP2 machine.

Those created on Win7 display correctly in link view, whereas those created on WinXP are not listed in link view when viewed on Win7 (we have not tried the opposite).

All popups, however, create the error message that Rob reported in his initial post. And all popups do appear to work in compiled output despite the error message.

Can we trust that the error message triggered in RH7.03 on Win7 is just a bug in RH, and that it won'f affect users of our output?

Cheers,

Morten

I have the same error. It looks to me like a parsing bug in RH, because the error message shows a misinterpreted file name (additional single quote after file name, additional parenthesis and semi-colon after the size info) when using a popup:

It seems that either the RH project is being accessed from a network location or the HTML linked is not part of RH Project and is a file on the network

It seems you didn't read what I wrote nor look at the screen shot.

It could be the link is reporting as outside the project because there is a problem with the link text. RoboAsh has no way of knowing what you are linking to or what the link text contains so he has tried to help you with possibilities.

Please post the full text for the link and confirm that the target topic does show in Project Manager. The numbers do seem odd, is that something you have added or do you know how they got there?
