Project references and code completion problems

Lately I have had issues with Flash Builder 4 - it is unable to find references or offer code completion for any classes even those defined within that same project.

Compilation works, and there are no build errors. The application runs fine, however development is much slower as I am basically working with a text editor + syntax highlighting.

Are there any common pitfalls that I should look for as to why my project is no longer able to find it's references?

(btw, this project links to a swc compiled from a separate library project, however I have other projects that are working just fine with this same structure)
