    Sound files

      Hello,

I have just got Premiere pro cs5, I am a complete beginner at this.

When I input a video file, the video part goes into the "video line 1", however, the audio part of it goes into "audio line 5" and cant seem to change it.

When I try and import music, the music file only goes to "audio line 5" which in turn cancels out the sound for the video.

      How can i fix this?

And please remember I am a complete beginner at this.

      Thank you.

There are 3 types of audio files that PPRO

          can produce audio lines for.

          Stereo, Mono and 5.1

When you create your project, you can state how many of each you want.  (You can also add and delete them from a project once you have started it)

You can only place Stereo, Mono and 5.1 audio clips in a track of the same type.

The tracks are identified by  a single speaker icon for mono,  A dble speaker icon for Stereo. and something for 5.1

This kind of thing is pretty well covered in the instructions (Help file).  I'd recommend giving it a thorough read through.

Here is a look at the little "speaker" icons, that tell you the channel-count of those Tracks.

                Hope that this helps,

                Good luck,
