Lee Jay-ZyZk56 Aug 26, 2010 8:10 AM (in response to rollsnut)Did you render standard or 1:1 previews before you copied the entire catalog and previews folder over?

2. Re: Help please - What step am I missing????
rollsnut Aug 26, 2010 8:30 AM (in response to Lee Jay-ZyZk56)In looking up "RENDER" in the help menu, am I correct that the rendering must be done when initially importing the photos into the original catalog, or when I open up the catalog?
I am not finding "render" in any of the menu options. Do you mean to set to 1:1 in the Develop Module under Navigator on the left sidebar?
I did find this in the "Help" but nothing about where, or how to implement the render function. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/358026?tstart=0
Thanks for your input. I will get this!

dj_paige Aug 26, 2010 8:32 AM (in response to rollsnut)Search for 1:1 Previews.
That is what you need to have and will allow you to view your photos in Lightroom on your laptop. (But ... they can take up a lot of space...)

rollsnut Aug 26, 2010 9:05 AM (in response to dj_paige)Ok, tried that but message on laptop still says" The folder could not be found." and no change in viewing resolution. I did set resolution to highest, saved, closed program, re-opened program, verified highest settings were set, but still no cigar.

Lee Jay-ZyZk56 Aug 26, 2010 9:31 AM (in response to rollsnut)You need to render (Library module, Library - Previews) on the machine that does have the image files before you either export the catalog or copy it to the laptop.

rollsnut Aug 26, 2010 9:45 AM (in response to Lee Jay-ZyZk56)That is processing as I write this and I'll post update.
I like this because then on desktop I can reset to Standard size and have best of both worlds on both machines!
Thanks
