MichaelKazlow Aug 26, 2010 6:06 PM (in response to Austeknis)Try to uninstall, run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup tool, then install 8, and update to the latest version of Acrobat 8.

2. Re: Serious error in Acrobat 8, need to re-install, doesn't fix
Bill@VT Aug 26, 2010 7:24 PM (in response to Austeknis)First, try a repair. Since it is crashing, you will have to do this from the Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs. If that does not work, then you can do the uninstall. If you do, be sure to delete the Acrobat folder before doing the reinstall (but after the other steps suggested). I you get it to work, you may want to consider doing the updates for security reasons. The current version is AA8.2.4.

3. Re: Serious error in Acrobat 8, need to re-install, doesn't fix
Austeknis Aug 26, 2010 10:50 PM (in response to Bill@VT)Thank you both very much!
I have managed to re-install correctly now. As you said Bill, there were several other folders.
I will now attempt to upgrade back to 8.2.4, which is what I had before all this started!
