hatstead Sep 1, 2010 11:36 AM (in response to emoglotz)This command is available in PEv.8. You can accompish the same thing by holding down the ALT key on the keyboard and left clicking on the line between the two layers that should be linked.

Mark Sand Sep 1, 2010 12:29 PM (in response to emoglotz)You can also group 2 layers by activating the top layer and typing Ctrl+G.
Or from the menu bar: Layer > Group with Previous (this in earlier versions of PSE, I don't know about version 7).

emoglotz Sep 1, 2010 5:57 PM (in response to hatstead)Will have to check this out, but that's not what the PDF said. It said something about a clipping layer. Is that available in PSE7 or is the tutorial wrong?

6. Re: Layer Mask Simulation in Photoshop Elements 7
emoglotz Sep 1, 2010 6:09 PM (in response to ssprengel)It's in the "Adobe Elements Inspiration Browser" that comes up when you click on Tutorials in the Welcome Screen for Photoshop Elements 7. There is no link identified in that "browser" screen.

Terri_F Sep 1, 2010 8:44 PM (in response to emoglotz)Here's the PSE 7 help page. As Mark states in his post, it's Layer<Group with Previous. I would assume the tutorial must have been written with PSE 8 in mind.
Adobe changed the command's name from clipping group to clipping mask. They work the same exact way only the name is different. *Keep this name change in mind when you watch or read tutorials on the web.
I think this command's name change was made to help match commands between various Adobe products.
