He's a bit away from the epicenter, but still, with all that water around, and the seismic activity in that part of the globe, who knows. I hope that we hear that all is well.

Actually...despite the damage down in the Sth Island ( Christchurch)...no deaths and only minor injuries to very few people.
Support services have kicked in immediately and its a fairly well rehearsed scenario. NZ is always at risk of this and we are well overdue for a really big one.
We are at constant risk from tsunami, earthquakes, volcanoes and Australians.

I'd also be concerned about Tasmanian Devils, who can use a canoe and navigate...

considering the risk from Australians it just goes to show you its always a good idea to bring along the steadicam rig !
