Why does Encore audio conform when PPro does it for the CFA file?

Why does Encore audio conform when PPro does it for the CFA file?

Let’s examine audio conforming after a mixer change.

In PPro, I change the Audio 1 Mixer from 0db to +3db using Read for a sequence.

It increases the volume for the entire Audio 1 track of the sequence.

In PPro, I run Sequence | Render Audio

      The render occurs immediately.

In Encore, I was dynamically linked to the PPro sequence.

When I look at Encore | Progress | Audio Conforming,

it is audio conforming slowly due to the Audio 1 Mixer change from 0db to +3db.

      According to Conforming audio,

“Premiere Pro saves conformed audio in CFA audio preview files.”

In PPro, the mixer change occurs quickly and should be saved in the CFA file.

So why is Encore doing Audio Conforming (very slowly) when PPro already did it in the CFA file (very fast)?

      Thanks in advance.

Let's think about this for a moment. In PrPro, the Conforming is for the Asset - the file used on the Timeline. At that point, nothing has been done to that Audio file. The CFA is for the original, and then you place an Instance of that onto the Timeline and make some changes. That original CFA is still for the original Asset, and not the altered Instance of it. That is what you are Importing into En, via ADL. This is now a new file. The original CFA does not reflect any editing that you have done. A new CFA for the altered file needs to be done.

I believe that is what you are seeing.

          Good luck,
