broomeGirl Sep 14, 2010 3:27 PM (in response to Gyno-jiz)Hi thanks for your quick response. I created the shape using the pen tool, once the selection was made, I applied a gradient. Hope this is what you meant.

Gyno-jiz Sep 14, 2010 4:31 PM (in response to broomeGirl)Just plain pen tool (with just 10 points/nodes or so, not 300 or more), no magnetic pen at high zooms, no selection-to-path?

Gyno-jiz Sep 14, 2010 5:03 PM (in response to broomeGirl)Other than applying the gradient like 10 times over itself, which would kill your selection's anti-aliasing, I'm kind of at a loss. Maybe let this steep or re-post if it gets stale. You could try resetting your preferences (once you've saved your workspace).

c.pfaffenbichler Sep 15, 2010 3:16 AM (in response to broomeGirl)This does not actually address the issue but have you tried using the Path as a Vector Mask for a Layer instead of creating a Selection?

10. Re: Anti aliasing
Zeno Bokor Sep 15, 2010 4:22 AM (in response to broomeGirl)Try converting your path into a selection by holding down Option and clicking on the Load path as a selection button from the bottom of the Paths panel. Make sure that the Anti-aliased checkbox is selected in the dialog box that pops up. The options set in that dialog box are remembered the next time you load any paths as selections, no matter the way so you will only need to do this once.

broomeGirl Sep 15, 2010 5:08 AM (in response to Zeno Bokor)Hi thanks for your input but doing this appears to be the same as right clicking and making selection.
