1. Re: I want to reset my pc back to factory settings(it's getting chuggy)
John Joslin Sep 19, 2010 4:00 AM (in response to Thechiddboy)What exactly is a reset? A reformat?
In that case, de-activation would be enough.

John Joslin Sep 19, 2010 6:23 AM (in response to Thechiddboy)You don't mention which version of Windows.
Normally when you put the recovery disc in you get two options – repair or re-install Windows.
The repair is supposed to leave your stuff and just fix Windows; this is best for a "damaged" OS.
The re-install will wipe the HDD then re-install a fresh Windows. This is best for a PC that is slowed down by a overloaded registry and the detritus left on the HDD after years of use.
