It appears that VLC is a 32 bit system (vlc-1.1.4-win32), I have a Win7/64, will the VLC be suitable or should I look elsewhere?

Colin Brougham Sep 20, 2010 6:49 AM (in response to Jarliei)Why not watch them online: http://tv.adobe.com/
As a side note, I'm glad they killed the Media Player--it was beyond awful.

Jarliei Sep 21, 2010 2:19 AM (in response to Colin Brougham)Colin,
Thanks for your note, not that I am an expert by any means but I had problems driving the Media Player, now by the look of it to better fields - VLC and Media Classic.
many thanks

Jarliei Sep 21, 2010 2:22 AM (in response to Powered by Design)Kobi and GLenn - The VLC works great, thanks guys.
all of you guys were correct but I think that the way it works is that only one "correct answer" can be awarded, so it goes to GLenn.
Cheers one and all!

Stan Jones Sep 21, 2010 5:19 AM (in response to Jarliei)When this happens, the helper who "lost" his points is awarded extra yoodles in the lounge. Since Bill benefitted, it is only right that he bring the wine...
(I just started using vlc; love it.)

Jarliei Sep 21, 2010 5:31 PM (in response to Stan Jones)To the uninitiated what is/are “Yoodles? (Note that we do speak English Down under).
Also Bill got his points by mistake, I was too quick clicking the mouse, seeing that the topic is Bill to bring the wine, I propose that Bill should also bring an extra bottle as compensation for GLenn (or should it be me to compensate GLenn?) Well, I better keep quite.

Bill Hunt Sep 21, 2010 5:39 PM (in response to Stan Jones)Stanley,
I can make that happen. How about a Jos. Phelps Viognier. Not sure how they will go with those blue-green, moving Yoodles, but we'll see. Who knows, maybe one of Jeff's children can use the Yoodles as a science project. Who knows, they might hold the cure for something?

14. Re: Watching PrePro Instructional Video
Bill Hunt Sep 21, 2010 5:48 PM (in response to Jarliei)If GLenn likes Viognier, he's good to go. Otherwise, I will be able to find something in the cellar to suit his tastes.
As for Yoodles, here is a good PAGE. Think of vegemite formed into the shape of noodles, then dried to the point that all tastes and flavors are removed, but when one adds boiling water, and a spice package, there is some taste restored. The Top Ramen noodles are not THAT different. For whatever reason, someone bought a pallet of Yoodles, years ago, and "donated" them to The Lounge. That was back in the days, when we had little but Pabst Blue Ribbon and Rolling Rock beer. Things have changed. We did get a bunch of Foster's, but went through that in no time. Now, we have moved onto Thomas Hardy's Ale, and of course the wines.
Actually, I never worry about any awarded points (as long as I get them!!!! ), so it's no big deal.

expeditionwest Sep 21, 2010 5:58 PM (in response to Jarliei)You say you have WIN7/64?
Ahh, I ran into the same problem. The solution was (for me)
If you look under your WINDOWS/x86) subdirectory there is a 32 bit version of Internet Explorer.
I opened up the 32 bit version in my Win7/84 and everything played fine.
I have them both side by side now on my desktop. I renamed the 32bit version IE32 and the 64bit IE64
WIth that you can use the supplied Windows Media Player and -voila- you got video.
Hope that helps (and also avoids downloading any free (spyware) programs.

Jarliei Sep 21, 2010 8:43 PM (in response to Bill Hunt)I am shocked, amazed and horrified; do people really eat this concoction?
Pabst Blue Ribbon? Rolling Rock ? Never had them. Vegemite in a noodle shape? Perfect axel grease, next you will probably suggest a hamburger WITHOUT a slice of beetroot!
And as far as Foster’s is concerned – the best thing ever that happens to it is when it get shipped out of Oz. We crack better tinnies then that down here mostly at the Dudley or even at the Royal (where I never Bxxxxy go), and that’s dinky-di.
Thomas Hardy's Ale – the old Sargent Major if I remember correctly? mid 90’s in the UK, haven’t drank it since, Yorkshire Tetley too is a fair grog.
And yes! The Wines! ten points.

For me, it was the quickest/cheapest/most viable solution to a problem. Gotta love it.
