    Cursor interactive balloons

    dbthumb Community Member

Is there a SIMPLE way to have a room semi-filled with balloons and have the user's cursor make the balloons repel away from the cursor? And, seem to float. It would be nice if the balloons interacted with each other, also. I'm an old artist/animator and basically Actionscript illiterate. Except for the basics, that is. Should I put this idea in the round file and move on, or is there hope? You magical people have helped me many times in the past. Is this pushing the envelope for an Actionscript novice? Or, can it be done at all?

While it is probably a bit advanced for a novice, you could try Googling "AS3 repel effect" and see what comes up.  I did a quick search with it and found a leaf blowing file you can buy for $4 which includes the source file.  You could probably take that and adapt it to your scenario.  I don't think it deals with the objects being affected by each other though.

Ned, are you in all the newsgroups? Great. Thanks for the info. I'm assuming, I'm on my own finding a solution. I'll give Google a try and go from there.
