RH8 - Can't check for updates

Hi,

From RoboHelp, if I go to the Help menu, I see the "Updates" option greyed out. I believe from previous versions, that this is supposed to always be an option so at anytime, you can check if updates are available. My guess is that this could be a permissions issue, whereby it will not allow me to check, but I could be wrong. Is it possible to fix this?

Thanks.

First 802 is the latest so you're not missing anything there.

When there is an update, you will need to get IT to give you local admin rights or log on themselves, apply the patch and then log off.

Check when RoboHelp has been open a couple of minutes. Wondering if it is like Deactivate which is greyed if you look straight after opening RoboHelp.

If that is not it, then it likely is a permissions issue. Get an IT admin to log on and check the menu option, allowing that delay.

The Updates... option is always greyed out, so does appear to be permissions issue. Problem is our IT dept ( just recently outsourced ) knows nothing about RoboHelp and has never really supported as they wanted us to use their own CMS solution, so not sure how far I'll get going there...

If I look at the About RoboHelp HTML... option, it notes version 8.02.208. Is there some other way to at least determine if there are updated versions available other then selecting the Updates... menu item?

Thanks.

You will be able to download it but without the permissions, it will not install.
