Take a look at the Textfield.embedFonts property in the actionscript language reference.
nope that doesnt help at all
this is straight out of the language reference except that i have checnged it to be Render HTML and it does not work
var my_fmt:TextFormat = new TextFormat();
my_fmt.font = "Arial";
this.createTextField("my_txt", this.getNextHighestDepth(), 10, 10, 160, 120);
my_txt.wordWrap = true;
my_txt.embedFonts = true;
my_txt.html = true;
my_txt.htmlText = "Hello <b>world</b>";
"nope that doesnt help at all"
Did you make a font symbol in the library of your embedded font & give it the linkage ID of "Arial"???
my_fmt.font = "font symbol linkage ID";
I tried your code sample with the linkageID & it worked fine... maybe you have a bug???
did the whole text field go bold or could you bold only a section of the text? i could only get the whole text box to go bold
Hmm... a bug?
