    Error message

    Bingo888 Community Member

      Hi all,

I downloaded a site template. When I try to open SWF file I get the following error message:

"This page contains some SWF objects that may not work properly in
the most recent version of Internet Explorer.
Dreamweaver cannot convert them to the new SWF markup. Please
delete each of them and insert again".

      What should I do?

      Thanks

To be honest I don't know why that comes up. It just started coming up for me as well - however very rarely (maybe a couple sites). I do know that it has to do with Library items (that I very very very rarely use). It seems that if a swf file was added to the library items and then edited, this error will come up. Apparently the library item does not update the code on the page. Removing and re-inserting the swf file on the page removes the old code and puts in the proper new code from the library.

This is just from research that I have done on this issue.

I have simply been checking if it works in the latest IE and if it does I ignore it - for now anyways. Biggest lesson here is to not use Library items - SSI is much better.

            Thanks Brad,

I am a real beginner in dreamweaver. I bought a design and tried to import it to the files.

Although I took Lynda and Total training course I still lack experience.

Sorry, but I don't know how to impelement
