Hello All,

I'm creating my first project using RoboHelp v8.  My output is set to Microsoft HTML Help.

I have created topics, books and a TOC.  I have even compiled the project and it looks great.  I can navigate it and reads fine.  I have even did some linking and this works perfect.

The is only one exception.  I'm unable to get the Search feature to appear in my complied project.  A co-worker is able to get this feature into their output but is unable to remember how they did it as this was done many years ago.

Any help here is greatly appreciated.

Brian

Hello again

Very odd!

Okay, the next thing I might try would be to create a totally new layout. Just open the Single Source Layouts pod, then right-click and create a fresh layout from the context menu.

Give that a try and let us know how it goes!

Cheers... Rick

I appreciate the feedback...

OK...I tired your suggestion...

  1. I started RoboHelp v8
  2. In the splash screen I choose More from the Create New category
  3. Clicked on Web Application Help
  4. Opened Single Source Layouts and right clicked on Microsoft HTML Help and selected Set as Primary Layout (no other changes were made)
  5. Clicked on Generated Primary Layout
  6. No Search tab in the complied output

  1. Next, I opened the Project Set-up and right clicked on the NewWindow1 and checked to ensure that the Search box is checked...it is.
  2. Then I opened up Single Source Layouts and right clicked on Microsoft HTML Help and selected Properties.
  3. Selected NewWindow1 as the Default Window.  Saved it and closed it
  4. Clicked on Generated Primary Layout
  5. No Search tab in the complied output
