Good morning. My Captivate 4 has stopped recording correctly.  It captures first slide but after that no clicks, hyperlinks, drop-down boxes, nothing captures except "dragging" the mouse.  It was working fine last Thursday the Friday this.  I tried reinstalling but still having same result.  What am I doing wrong?  I have looked at every Preference and recording option I can find and see nothing weird.  Thanks for your time and help, I'm getting desperate!

Hi again

It may be worth closing Captivate and clobbering the DAT file.

You should find the DAT file in the following location:

C:\Documents and Settings\YourLoggedInUserNameHere\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Captivate

The file is named captivate_v40.dat

Just delete the file (or rename it if you are hinky about deleting things) and restart Captivate and try again.

Cheers... Rick

Welcome to our community

And what would the operating system be here?

If it's Windows 7, that could explain it because we see all sorts of issues where Captivate doesn't work correctly in that environment.

Additionally, you might double-check the Recording settings just before you record. Click the Camera icon and not the Manual icon.

Hi Rick, thanks for quick note!  I'm starring at my screen trying to figure out what to try next, lol.  I have Windows XP. I inserted screen shot showing my settings under the Camera icon prior to recording.
