How to remove or replace a portrait in a picture?

    DavidW7 Community Member

What is the best/simplest way to replace a portrait image in one picture by another portrait from another picture?

Alternatively, how can I simply remove a portrait from a picture and filling/completing the vacant area with the surrounding as if the individual image was not in the picture in the first place?

      Thanks,

      David

Post a example so we can see.

Simple way would to size down the portrait you want to add and place it over the top of the other as a layer. Then blend it in.

With the rectangular marquee selection tool select the image you want to use and
            press Ctrl + C

With the rectangular marquee selection tool select the area where you want to use the image and press Shift + Ctrl + V

If necessary, Press Ctrl + T then hold Shift + Alt and drag one the corners of the transform box until the image fits in the new space the way you like. When done press Enter to apply

Here the smart object comes in picture. If u have or place a smart object in a particular place ,u can just replace the smart object with another one just by clicking on smart object layer panel and choosing replace contents and  the image will be replaced with new one .U donot have to do(any thing with ctrl,Shift,c,v) dragging business here with transformation tools, if the photo to be replaced is of same size . It will automatically adjust to already tranformed image. This way u can avoid resizing & aligning for repeat jobs
