Todd_Kopriva Nov 1, 2010 10:26 AM (in response to David Zeno)Harm is mostly right.
Some third-party plug-ins for After Effects do use CUDA processing, too. An example is the GenArts Sapphire plug-ins.

David Zeno Nov 1, 2010 10:48 AM (in response to Todd_Kopriva)Hi Todd,
that's for that extra tidbit of info.
On another non-Adobe note.... do any other companies take advantage of CUDA ? or is this strictly for Adobe ?
My cousin uses a program called Solid Edge, and also Autodesk 3D Studio Max. 3DS Max is perhaps the most advanced of all
3D programs, ( one of them ) so I wonder if it also takes advantage of CUDA. Perhaps not though, and it's strickly an Adobe thing ?
Dave.

Todd_Kopriva Nov 1, 2010 10:58 AM (in response to David Zeno)CUDA is a general-purpose graphics-processing architecture. It's used by a lot of software. It's still relatively new, so usage is far from universal. It's also specific to NVIDIA cards. It is not an Adobe-specific thing; it's just something that Adobe is taking advantage of in Premiere Pro CS5.
The Wikipedia page on CUDA is pretty good.
