I'm running XP under Boot Camp on a 8GB Macbook Pro 5.1 (Intel duo 2009).
After Effects CS4 only sees 2.7GB.
What's the fix?
There is no fix. CS4 is 32-bit edition of After Effects, and, WIndows XP is a 32-bit OS (unless you're running 64-bit), and a 32-bit windows process will only see the maxiumum allowable amount of RAM (2GB, or 3GB with the switch enabled). If you were to run CS5 (64-bit app) on a 64-bit OS, you'd take maximum advantage of your available RAM.
Ah, my bad entirely. I'd forgotten that XP limitation.
Would upgrading to Vista allow my system to see any more?
EDIT My bad again - reading the link above tells me I'd gain nothing.
Thanks for the info.
