Have a .FLEX File...What Do I Do With It?

I have a license file that was emailed to me for a software product we use (not related to Adobe). The extension of the file is .flex. Is this the extension of Flex Builder? I don't know anything about Flex. We really need a .dat file. Can flex be converted to dat?

Also, the company that I received the file from will not return my messages with inquiries of what to do with this file or if they can send a .dat.

Thanks!

No, that's probably a FLEXNet file from the company formerly known as Macrovision.

That's an entirely different Flex though, not related to Adobe Flex.
