1. Re: what are the limitations for this beta version of audition 4?
smuff1 Nov 9, 2010 5:05 AM (in response to fitzmachinedrum)The mac version does not seem to have the spectral pan display. This would be very useful. But I love the sound quality of Audition Brilliant!!

The Spectral Pan Display from Audition 2 & Audition 3, aren't in the beta yet. I'm sure other users on this forum would benefit from hearing how you use the Spectral Pan Display, let us know how it fits into your workflow.

Thanks for checking out this public preview of Audition 4 for the Mac. For the most part, this is a fully functional release. You can freely create and save your files or sessions, they will be fully compatible with the final release, and you can use this for any personal or commercial work. I don't believe you are allowed to publicly redistribute the application, but it should remain available on labs.adobe.com until the final version is released.

5. Re: what are the limitations for this beta version of audition 4?
smuff1 Nov 9, 2010 9:21 AM (in response to fitzmachinedrum)I am doing some research into extracting elements of two channel recordings for multi-channel spatialisation. A tool like this would help me to better isolate sounds/frequencies in the stereo field for extraction and further processing. Sorry it is such a specialist task On a more general level I do a lot of environmental recordings and tools such as this (and the spectral phase tool) help to test phase of mics (I use a lot of M&S mics) and sound event extraction.
Many thanks.
