    10.6.5 Beware

Seems like a serious printing problem here. I have yet to update so I have no direct experience.

I've updated to 10.6.5 and can print without issues to an Epson 3880 and 9900. The thread you referenced gives no info regarding specific printers nor drivers. It's unclear what settings those people where using. So it seems a bit alarmist to me.

            Yeah, that does seem alarmist.

The problem appears to affect PostScript printing to landscape orientation (ie: a small subset of a subset of print usage).

10.6.5 also fixes a large number of known crashing bugs in the OS that have been affecting Photoshop users.

The answer to the landscape printing problem with postscript printers is in the thread quoted by the poster above. Mac OS X 10.6.5 now uses Cups 1.45. Replacing the file /usr/libexec/cups/filter/pstops from Cups 1.44 solves the problem. I dragged the file from a system backup of 10.6.4, which uses 1.44, fixed permissions with Disk Utility, rebooted. Now can print landscapes from Photoshop CS5 to my postscript printer.
