I could use some input on the benefits/drawbacks of WebHelp versus FlashHelp.  I currently have RX5 but will be upgrading to RX8 this month.  Our company is getting ready to release new software with the latest technology in our industry the first qtr next year and we want the Help to be the best it can be.  I will be linking Word docsx as my main source. All the Help on our other products is WebHelp.  Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Hi there

For me the main consideration for choosing WebHelp over FlashHelp is the ability of WebHelp to be customized easily. If you want a custom skin for FlashHelp, you must know Adobe Flash. Customizing WebHelp is as simple as supplying different images so it's way easier.

By deploying FlashHelp, not only are you sacrificing easy customizability, but you are also now forcing the end user to have the Flash player installed in their browser in order to see the FlashHelp skin. And as we have recently seen with Captivate, sometimes updates to the Flash Player cause problems to appear.

Cheers... Rick
