Audio 5.1 Surcode render stops at low volume scene

I use PPro CS4.  I am trying to render the audio portion of a project with 5.1 audio using the Surcode decoder via an export out of PPro into media encoder.

It chugs right along until it gets to about 80% complete, and then the elapsed time, time remaining, and elapsed queue time all stop.  Now I won't say it is a classic "crash".  The screen is responsive, I can actually pretend to pause it and resume it...but nothing appears to be happening.  The file last update time coincides with when the times stopped moving.

But the hard drive access is way down.  However I do not get a "not responding" and in fact  it still says "encoding". However when I stop the que it then does become non-responsive.

I have tried this twice and it stops in the same place.

By playing the portion it did render, I figured out it was stopping where I had the audio drop out for a period.

So when I bumped it back up (which I really did not want to), and re-ran the render, it completed.

If I am rendering audio separately, (which I HAVE to if I am encoding DD 5.1 since CS4, and I guess CS5 do not support dynamic link with 5.1 audio) is there a setting somewhere which will tell PPro/MediaEncoder/Surcode to keep going even if it hits a silent patch for a small period?

      Thanks,
