If you deactivate the software on your computer, you can transfer it to someone else.
Adobe Customer Service can help you with a transfer of the license. They know more about the details of this kind of thing than anyone on this forum.

BTW, we are "working on that", as you put it.
If you have trouble with your communication with our support staff on the phone, let me know. My email address is kopriva -at- adobe -dot- com.

Eric Addison Nov 23, 2010 2:42 PM (in response to Todd_Kopriva)Thanks, Todd...they were very helpful. And the service (at least based from this one phone call) seems improved.
Now...how to spend the extra cash for selling CS3?? Maybe a new monitor for the edit suite?

Bill Hunt Nov 27, 2010 12:45 PM (in response to Eric Addison)Eric,
Though I have had few interactions, over the last several years, Customer Service (more "sales" related, than Technical Support) has always been great for me. Looks like they helped you here too.
With the few "licensing transfers," that I have been involved in, C/S has done everything by FAX and has been very helpful. When one mentions buying any "used" version of an Adobe program, I always urge the buyer to ask for the full Adobe documentation, prior to any transfer of funds. Adobe makes it easy, so long as all "ducks are in a row."
Good luck, and thanks for reporting your success,
Hunt
