Im trying to simply blend two layers together of 500x300 divx footage and it cant playback in realtime and takes about 4x as long to render. This has been the case more or less with any footage ive used and any settings ive tried ever since CS5 came out. Using win7 on a i7, 2drive raid 0, 10gb ram, 9600GT 258.96 drivers, resource monitor is showing 5% cpu usage, 10mb/s disk usage and 90% ram remaining when rendering or playing unrendered. I dont know what else to do, am i mistaken in thinking CS5 is capable of playing back more than one layer of low quality footage in realtime?
You are trying to edit material that is not suited for editing. Convert Divx to something editable and accept the quality hit.
I'd agree with Harm on this one. Using Premiere Pro, stick to using footage that you shot yourself using a standardized camera format and things should run smoother.
Use a consumer editor for this type of footage..
