Need help evaluating problems on this site

A potential client wants me to make revisions to this newly constructed site that another web person did for him:

      http://filmlook.com

and it may just be beyond my ability to work on it. I downloaded the files from ftp site and opened it in DW, but no images show up. Using Preview in Browser, they show. Looking through the code, I see there are a lot of absolute positioned div's - I've read thats not recommended - and I see there are tags for layers. It's not built the simplified way I would have done it, but then again, I'm only a part-time web designer and maybe it's fine. '

      Specifically:

      1)  How do I work on a site when the graphics don't show in DW?  Is it all on layers? Is this an acceptable common-place site construction or is it just totally off-the-wall wonky and should be re-built? Your informed opinion would be appreciated.

      2) On index.html, the social network icons bottom right can't be clicked. Is it because a layer covers them? They work on the other pages. Maybe the video container is affecting them? Is there a simple fix?

      3) The video on index.html loops, the client wants it to play only once. I've never embedded a video from vimeo.com and I don't know how...insight appreciated...

      4) He wants a still image instead of video replay when RETURNING to index.html. Is there a better way to go about this without a separate page like "index2.html"?

      4) Would appreciate your input on the professionalism of this site's construction and your recommendations.
