    Clicking through history s s l o o w w w

When I click through different history states on an image, it takes like, click, 1 - 2 - 3 - 4, then the change happens. This behavior happens even when selecting back and forth between only two of the same history states. Has anyone else noticed this?

          Geoffery,

I have a 2 core 2.8 GHz AMD with 4 GB memory running 32-bit Windows XP, and the first change in history state costs me less than a second, the rest on the same image are instantaneous.

Your computer is way more powerful than mine, so something is definitely wrong with your environment. Try turning off background tasks to see if that helps. I don't know much about Macs; maybe somebody else has suggestions.

            Geoffery,

Is it possible that that image you are seeing this behavior has had multiple uses of the spot healing tool?  There are a few of us out there with 8/16-core machines that get bogged down when "spots" have been healed on an image.  Once the image gets to the point of s-l-o-w, it becomes slow for everything including traversing the history panel.  I have also heard of similar slow down when multiple uses of the local adjustment brush are implemented but have not seen that in my setup..

If indeed the spot healing tool is the culprit, if is a bug and has been reported; however it appears to be hardware dependent and we are in the minority so unsure when it might be fixed.  If you are not utilizing the spot healing tool, it might be another bug.  Try and isolate a situation/action where you can repeat the result and file a bug report at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
