Abu  Dhabi police say an airline passenger carried a bag filled with snakes  and other animals on an eight hour flight with him from Indonesia to the  United Arab Emirates...

can see they guy whispering to the box, telling all the snakes to "be quiet now, we're at the airport ! "

Maybe he was responsible for providing the snakes for the air-cannons in FC, though I do not know what the parrots and the monkeys were for - terrorizing the cabin-crew? Used for "show-and-tell" for the flight safety procedures? Other?

Remember, those snakes must first go into the freezer, or they do not fire properly from the air-cannons!

Obviously, screening of passengers might be a bit lax in certain parts of the world. My wife had a pair of eyelash curlers confiscated on a flight to Boston. Guess that TSA thought she'd rush the cockpit and threaten the pilots with "curled eyelashes?"

Good one! That doesn't work too well with TSA, but with UAE, maybe?

Reminded me about a current project I'm filming now a days (a presentation video for a school, BTW doing it with a 7D).

Tomorrow, according to my list, I'm going to film in the following classes:

2EDA, 2KEA/2KEB, 2DEA,, 2EEB, and 2BSA. I have NO idea what that means, but I'll figure it out when I get there.

                    Nice project!

Bet that you could sell those to United Airlines.

If you approach Emirates Airlines though, you might want to also offer one sized for parrots and one sized for monkeys, but not sure what species of monkeys should be spec'ed. Maybe a tray that expands/contracts, depending on which monkeys are in use?

Snakes at the Lodge.  This one's for Rod and Bill.  I almost forgot about this footage I shot at Amicalola Lodge in Georgia about 4 years ago.  There's something about this lodge and snakes.  About two years prior, there was a rattler right near the lodge's entrance.

Looks like one of those "snake handling cults" down in Texas!

Now, when the fire alarm sounds at Midnight, and a voice comes over the PA system - "the snakes have escaped," I can just see those vacationers hitting the canoes to get to the middle of the lake. Hope the Moon is full.

Oh wait. What if the snakes made their way INTO the canoes?????????

I don't know Rod, Eastern Hog Snakes (not sure about them Long Island ones though - life is pretty cushy in The Hamptons) live for quite some time. Maybe Cleo is still around, and with ample food supplies, about 16' long, with a grin on her face. Think positive - I know that the frogs wish her a very long life.

We had a Western Black Snake on the golf course for many years. Have not seen her in the last few, but hope she's doing OK. I'd guess that she was about 12' long, and probably 8" across in the middle. She hung out between 10 and 13, and there was also a flock of African Love Birds in the desert growth there, plus tons of rabbits, and other furry varmints. Once she crawled up the hill to the lunch shack on top of the hill, and hid under the ice machine. I think that she was looking for the Nathan's hot dogs? We had to drag her out, and carry her to the bottom of the hill, to the arroyo between the holes, where she normally stayed. It took two of us, and I'd guess that she weighted about 80 - 90 lbs. She was by far, the largest snake that I have seen in the West, and that includes the pet constrictors.

Back when I lived in LA Calif, my brother had a pet boa called Junior.  I remember the time he had to go out of town for a week.  He had his girlfriend take care of him.  She put her hand in the cage to change his water and started shaking. She was simply terrified of snakes. Jr. struck her on her hand and coiled around her arm attempting to squeeze her arm to death.  She managed to get free but totally freaked and was traumatized.  I could just see her and about died laughing when my brother told me the story.

A couple of years later, I borrowed Jr. for a couple of days and took him in to work on my day off to show the people I worked with.  At that time, I was an optician and worked in a mall in LA Calif.  At this time Jr. was 8 foot long.  I remember walking down the escalator at the mall with this 8' snake wrapped around my neck.  Two ladies were in front of me.  One turned around for whatever reason and screamed. Her friend turned around and they both ran as if for their lives.  I think some people put snakes in the same category as spiders.

Now, had you not been wearing those "gopher gloves" I gave you for Christmas that year, none of that would have happened. Cleo saw the gopher gloves, and thought, "hey, Rod has furnished me with tow fat, wiggley gophers, so it's dinner time!"
