I need help here. I have replaced my hard drive in my mac and now
when I try to install digital editions I get an error of too many activations.
Dont tell me to go to support and file a claim because there is NO
way to fill out an email request for help. why???
I select the reply and am redirected to support with no option of
being able to contact any support person via email, as I have done
in the past.
can you help?? I have ebooks and would like to read them and
need to have my account reset.
I await yr reply

The only way to get this fixed is to submit a technical support request by going to http://www.adobe.com/support/digitaleditions and click on 'Submit a web case'. Indicating that Digital Editions is the product, and including the full text of your error message will improve the chances of a quick resolution.

Jim,
I have already done that. there is NO I say again NO place for me to
enter the product, digital editions, and submit text describing the problem
I am having. Choosing 'open a web case' redirects me to support
and there is NO place for me to submit the information I need to give
to somebody to help me.
Now that that has been said what else can you do???
I have ebooks I want to read and cant because of your lousy
support department. I need help to get this fixed.
Go to the website yourself and you will see that there is no place
to insert any text to anyone.
please check and advise. this is YOUR product and you should
provide email support for it. I used to be able to do this I dont know
why I cannot now. why have they changed this. again there is no way
to create a web case.
I await your reply

Once in the "Customer Support Portal", In the "Technical Support" form, select "Using a product or service" as the "issue type",
Then select the "Additional Products" radio button
Next select "Adobe Digitial Editions" from the drop down list
Then hit the "continue" button, and there will be an additional form to fill out containing multiple text fields for entry.

I have had it with ADE. They have reset my activation count at least three times but it continues to plague me. Unfortunately I have invested in many ebooks and can't just walk away so I'm stuck waiting for help yet again. I'm thinking about just scrapping ADE and buying a wireless reader and never using another Adobe product again.

The support responses should have included this helpful bit ---- Deactivation does not get you back an activation count, all it does is erase the activation off of the computer/device. In other words going through Activation/Deactivation cycles will eat up your activation allowance and is the most common cause for this.

Obviously there are some big issues with ADE. Why aren't they being
corrected?
