1. Re: Anyone installed OS 10.6.6.?
Jeffrey Tranberry Jan 6, 2011 2:01 PM (in response to Cindy-)I haven't seen any reports of issues yet. As with all updates, make sure you can revert back if you run into issues or test on a non-critical machine or OS volume.

LarryGRC Jan 6, 2011 2:38 PM (in response to Jeffrey Tranberry)I did a repair permissions, installed the combo 10.6.6, repaired permissions again. 12.0.1 seems to be running fine as does everything else. No changes. New Mac App store is nice and I'm going to like the easy update capability. I notice that Adobe isn't participating yet anyway.

charles badland Jan 6, 2011 6:41 PM (in response to [scott])Scott,
Do you know if the print orientation bug (10.6.5 would not print landscape orientation to some postscript printers) is fixed in 10.6.6? I just ran into that today big time in a classroom printing to an OKI 9600 printer.

5. Re: Anyone installed OS 10.6.6.?
[scott] Jan 6, 2011 6:48 PM (in response to charles badland)Never had the problem, and rarely print from Photoshop, so I can't really comment thoroughly.
I did just print a landscape page from Photoshop 12.0.2 to my Xerox 3250 (monochrome postscript) with no problem.
Reportedly all 10.6.6 adds is the Mac AppStore and it's support, nothing more.

6. Re: Anyone installed OS 10.6.6.?
Cindy- Jan 6, 2011 7:12 PM (in response to [scott])I read that the orientation bug is one of the things this update corrects. I did not install 10.6.5 because I was worried about problems so I am looking to see if all the issues have been addressed.

7. Re: Anyone installed OS 10.6.6.?
Wade_Zimmerman Jan 7, 2011 3:28 AM (in response to Cindy-)I have no issues as well though I now have green skin orange eyes glow in the dark and speak a language I don't understand. But other than that everything is fine.

8. Re: Anyone installed OS 10.6.6.?
davidstong Jan 7, 2011 4:02 AM (in response to Cindy-)I installed 10.6.6 and notice no new problems. I can now print landscape from Photoshop as well as booklets from InDesign's Print Booklet menu without going through postscript. Seems someone finally recognized that they'd broken postscript.

9. Re: Anyone installed OS 10.6.6.?
Cindy- Jan 7, 2011 7:50 AM (in response to Wade_Zimmerman)I like green skin and orange eyes that glow in the dark. I'm going for it.

10. Re: Anyone installed OS 10.6.6.?
D D Hoelscher Jan 7, 2011 9:42 AM (in response to Cindy-)I guess that it's typical that there will be a few people with massive problems. After 10.6.6, I am unable to print from Photoshop CS5 or Lightroom 3.3.
Haven't yet isolated the problem.
-
11. Re: Anyone installed OS 10.6.6.?
Cindy- Jan 7, 2011 10:03 AM (in response to D D Hoelscher)That is the kind of info that concerns me. I would like to know if printing issues are typical or isolated.

12. Re: Anyone installed OS 10.6.6.?
Marian Driscoll Jan 7, 2011 10:53 AM (in response to Cindy-)There is only one way to find out if it is isolated to your computer. This is why Jeffrey's advice was ideal. We should all have clones of our system as back-up... and as a way to test new updates. Apps like CCC make this easy.

13. Re: Anyone installed OS 10.6.6.?
Wade_Zimmerman Jan 7, 2011 11:11 AM (in response to Marian Driscoll)I don'tknow how many of you use Illustrator but if you do can anyone with 10.6.6 place a .psd in Illustrator with a spot channel?

14. Re: Anyone installed OS 10.6.6.?
davidstong Jan 7, 2011 11:26 AM (in response to Wade_Zimmerman)Just tried it Wade- from within OS10.6.6 I added a spot channel to the PSD 12.0.2 x64 image I was working on, opened Illustrator 15.0.2 and placed a linked file. Sent to the printer with good results- no problems or warnings.

15. Re: Anyone installed OS 10.6.6.?
Wade_Zimmerman Jan 7, 2011 11:52 AM (in response to davidstong)I don't seem to be able to place this file I can place the fie in ID with no probems seen.
Perhaps i am doing something wrong.
I converted the image to cmyk
drew a rectangle marque and I tried a text mask (selection) as well
made a spot channel and selected a pms coated solid spot color
saved it as a psd
and I get a message that when placing it in AI 12.0.2 that the file is unreadable
Anyone see anything I am doing wrong. I should be able to place it link or embedded.
I should have mentioned that i installed the Pantone Plus Swatches from Pantone which they say are the latest swatches.

16. Re: Anyone installed OS 10.6.6.?
PantoneIssue Jan 7, 2011 3:53 PM (in response to Wade_Zimmerman)If your Photoshop file is using a regular Pantone swatch in a spot color channel, Illustrator won't take it. Convert your spot color using the new Pantone swatch and it will work.

Wade_Zimmerman Jan 7, 2011 9:38 PM (in response to PantoneIssue)Thanks I got it.

18. Re: Anyone installed OS 10.6.6.?

19. Re: Anyone installed OS 10.6.6.?
font9a Jan 10, 2011 3:01 PM (in response to Cindy-)Best thing about 10.6.6 and the Mac App Store?
pixelmater!
just kidding.
But I hope Adobe will take some cues from Pixelmater — especially the UI responsiveness, inline controls for "accept | cancel" (e.g., on transforms, text operations). Also Pixelmater brush painting (albeit rudimentary c.f. Photoshop) is way more responsive.
That said, no new issues with 64-bit 10.6.6 + 12.0.2.

corchopan Jan 21, 2011 4:05 AM (in response to janicejjjj)hi,
i resolve the problem that i had with illustrator (with the rest of the adobe products i didnt have problems to print).
what i did it was update de operative system i remove the old printers and added the printers again. then restart the computer.
that fixed my problem. while it was updating i could read that on the updating window that an epson (the brand of my printers) driver was being intalled to fix print problems.
i hope that fix yor problems too. good luck.

23. Re: Anyone installed OS 10.6.6.?
janicejjjj Jan 21, 2011 5:55 AM (in response to Cindy-)I've re-installed both Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Both CS4 on 10.6.6.
Printing only works from Photoshop, but will still not print from Acrobat Pro - just a tiny one inch section of the page prints.
The odd thing is that when I print from Acrobat Pro it insists on the paper being entered through the manual feed instead of the tray too.

24. Re: Anyone installed OS 10.6.6.?
Mr. MMMMonkey Apr 9, 2011 4:47 PM (in response to Cindy-)Installed 10.6.6 on two machines. Photoshop CS5 will not print from either. Very frustrating indeed.

Actually, you are posting to a thread that was last posted to back in Jan. OS X is now at 10.6.7. Time to update again...

26. Re: Anyone installed OS 10.6.6.?
Mr. MMMMonkey Apr 10, 2011 10:25 AM (in response to Jeff Schewe)Indeed you are right. I actually have 10.6.7 on both machines now. I'll
try it later.
Thank you.
Best,
David
